I long ago came to terms with my expectation that the partnership of DirecTV and NBC which had allowed the outstanding drama Friday Night Lights to run for a third season would end after this year. That's what makes today seem like Christmas in late March. Variety reports that Friday Night Lights has been picked up for two more thirteen episode seasons. I am well pleased.
I've been delinquent in my TV viewing this week and just caught up on a lot of stuff on my DVR. Wednesday's South Park episode on the bailouts was superb. As per usual, Matt Stone and Trey Parker delivered hilarious political commentary that was more cogent than a heck of a lot of political pundits out there. My favorite part was the government's "chart" (which I'll show below), but I'd recommend catching the full episode online or on a rerun if you missed it:
