Tim Gunn was in Northern Virginia on Saturday afternoon. Clearly a Yeah Right field trip was in order. Yeah Right reader Bev and I headed over to Tyson's Corner for a day of shopping, a fashion show, and Tim Gunn fabulousness. Tim and another lady from Liz Claiborne presented fall looks from a variety of LC brands including Lucky Brand Jeans, Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, and Kensie (from my standpoint everything was pretty fugly other than the Kensie stuff which was fab). Lots of Tim Gunn pictures and more commentary after the break.
The crowd wasn't that big. That was probably due to the fact that the event was poorly organized. It took a long time poking around the website to figure out what time the event started, let alone to find location, how to RSVP, and other details. It is also, incidently, why Operation Meet Tim Gunn was a failure. The website said that to get your picture taken with Tim Gunn you had to buy $100 worth of clothing from the lines in the show. We tried to confirm this when we got there. The lady working the registration table told us that the $100 criterion was only for professional photos and that we were welcome to stand in the picture line and take our own photos. When we tried to do this, we weren't allowed to get in the line.
Here's Tim Gunn and the other lady:
Not even Tim Gunn can convince me that this is not a fanny pack:
This isn't the best picture of it, but the outfit on the right was straight out of Mad Men:
After the show Tim did a Q&A session:

Nice try ladies! I heart Tim!
