Maybe this was common knowledge, but before today I didn't know that "Misirlou" - the song that Quentin Taratino made the unofficial theme to Pulp Fiction -was based on a Greek folk tune, or that Dick Dale composed it when he was challenged to play an entire song on only one string. Pretty amazing - the Greek folk influence comes through on this old school vid (big H/T to Ace of Spades).
