Local Music Series

FYI – DC area readers might be interested in the following series at the American Art Museum. Each month, a local musician picks a painting, someone from the Smithsonian gives a lecture about the painting, then the musician plays an hour long acoustic set. I went a few weeks ago to see Olivia Mancini and it’s a good set up – the room where they do the concert has good acoustics and is next to my favorite room in the museum (aka the one with the Warhols). Plus the courtyard in the center of the museum is a beautiful place to hang out on the weekends and read and whatnot. Check out the upcoming schedule here.
