I'm both a stats/demographics geek and a movie lover, so I'm finding this fascinating.  It's a tool that lets you examine neighborhood-by-neighborhood Netflix movie rental patterns for 12 major metropolitan areas.  If you're at all familiar with the various locales in and around the cities available, some of the results are entirely predictable, but others can be quite surprising.

I'm picky about inner-ear headphones.  I want good sound but I don't want to break the bank to get it.  And, I don't want them to fall apart after three weeks, a la the standard iPod headphones.

I've found the ultimate solution in Skullcandy's Ink'd series.  Rolling Stone gave the headphones a shout out a few months ago and I recently picked up a pair.  They have big sound, are comfy, and come in a plethora of delightful colors.  The best part?  The list price is 20 bucks (but you can find them cheaper on the web).  My metallic-blue beauties only set me back 15 bucks and they are my new best friend.

What's In A Gamertag?

Amongst my many other pastimes (writing, watching movies and consuming soft cheeses, just to name a few), I also enjoy some online gaming every once and a while.  While most of it tends to be via my PC, I've been spending some quality time with Battlefield 1943 on my XBOX 360 of late.  The game's a lot of fun, but that's not what I want to talk about.  Rather, I'd like to discuss online player names (or "gamertags" as they're called on XBOX Live), and just how annoying most of them are.

Fun with Facebook Quizzes

Like many (most?) people, I've been annoyed with the vast amount of Facebook quizzes clogging up my newsfeed recently.  Unfortunately, you can't block all quizzes with one click. So each time I see a quiz, I block it.  I've been doing that for a few months now.  The quizzes are still coming, thankfully more slowly, but the fun part: they are starting to become much more obscure.  At first I was blocking things like "What Simpsons character are you?"  This week I was treated with the following gems:
