Allison is Yeah Right's resident Colorado sports fan who loves Will Ferrell, Chelsea FC, and, of course, liberty. Growing up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains (think South Park) she watched every episode of Saved by the Bell at least ten times. Her life goal is to appear on Jeopardy, but she'd settle for Hole in the Wall.
A former radio DJ, Allison will listen to any musical genre that is not country. She is also hopelessly addicted to celebrity gossip and reality TV shows on MTV and Bravo. In other words, she watches The Hills so you don't have to.
Allison's Vital Stats:
- Favorite Band: Weezer
- Favorite Movie: Caddyshack
- Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld
- Favorite Book: A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
BATMAN is the creepy older brother in the Yeah Right family -- the guy who doesn't realize he's 10 years older than everyone else at the Black Cat. He bores people by bragging that he used to write for Option and other music magazines that went bust more than a decade ago. Just as he loves his country, but dislikes its government, BATMAN loves pop culture, but dislikes nearly all celebrities and wanna-be celebrities. He has delusions that he can anonymously trigger a cultural revolution so the halls of West Beverly High will not only feature posters of cool indie bands – but also libertarian bumper stickers and stray copies of National Review. That said, his iPod is ridiculous and his ability to drop Caddyshack quotes is legendary. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.
BATMAN's Vital Stats:
- Band that Changed His Life: The Replacements
- Book that Changed His Life: Atlas Shrugged (of course)
- Movie that Changed His Life: A Walk to Remember (he will explain upon request)
- TV Show that Absorbed Too Much of His Life: the original 90210
Whitney's Vital Stats:
- Favorite Band: Led Zeppelin
- Favorite Author(s): Ayn Rand and Paulo Coehlo
- Favorite Movie: Playing by Heart
- Favorite Ice Cream: any flavor of Blue Bell Homemade Ice Cream (sing it with me, people)
LarryK reports to Yeah Right under deep cover in America’s heartland. Hit the shuffle on his CD deck, and the sounds might include the New York Dolls, Hound Dog Taylor and Chaka Khan. He’s also not ashamed to say that he listens to a little country, as long as it’s not sung by a bottle blonde in pants that are too tight or a man wearing an oversized hat. An unabashed “dynamist,” he thinks society should be structured to maximize liberty, growth and creativity, and dreams of a day when Hayek (Friedrich, not Selma) will be required reading on all college campuses. He is the creepy, even older brother in Yeah Right Nation because somebody has to be.
LarryK’s Vital Stats:
- Favorite Band: Just one? Let’s say Slobberbone.
- Favorite TV Show: The Simpsons, back in the day
- Favorite Serious Movie(s): The Godfather I and II
- Favorite Frivolous Movie(s): Cinematic mayhem like A Fish Called Wanda, What’s Up Doc?, and The Miracle at Morgan’s Creek
- Favorite Book: The Franchiser by Stanley Elkin
Isangeles' Vital Stats:
- Book he's read more times than any other: The Lord of the Rings
- Movie he's seen more times than any other: Raiders of the Lost Ark
- Song he's listened to more than any other: "Time" by Pink Floyd
- "Rockband" track that he rocks more than any other: "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas
- TV Show he's enjoyed more than any other: The Wire (Omar's comin'!)
- Game show he's been closer to appearing on than any other: Win Ben Stein's Money
